With their new "With Primeval Force" gathering excellent reviews from the fans and professional media worldwide, we had to have a chat with Lars in order to know Vampire's future plans and also a bit about the band regarding touring plans and their signing to Century Media.
M.I. - "With Primeval Force" is much more aggressive than your previous works, how's the reception been so far?
Overwhelming, actually, as we weren't expecting such a vibe from the fans and the press. Sure, we know it's a good album, but we weren't expecting such a response. It took us 3 years to make, in between touring, so we are pretty pleased with the reactions so far.
M.I. - Can you tell us a bit about the composition process of the album? Is there someone in charge of the whole process?
We do everything from scratch, mostly Black String does it. I wrote some stuff, ordered the songs, some verses and chorus, etc. but composing duties are mostly Black String's.
M.I. - The album is clearly above very good, so much so Century Media signed you. How has it been regarding their work? And do they manage you as well?
Century Media goes above and beyond regarding our expectations, and they're fabulous with logistics and all. They do not manage the band, though.
M.I. - You all played in several bands before, what was the process like to gather you guys and form Vampire?
Black String and I got together when String got to Gothenburg. It took us a couple of years to form, we started out recording some demos and rehearsing and whatnot, and it all started from there.
M.I. - What are your touring plans in order to promote the new album?
We have recording plans first to be honest, but we'll do some touring later this year, mostly in Scandinavia, although we're obviously open to suggestions to play in festivals in Europe, it's a matter of promoters getting in touch.
